A neon maze chase built the way arcade games were built in the 80s. One screen, one life bar, four ghosts with four personalities, a siren that climbs as the level does, and a high score table with your name on it. Pac Attack is an original game made for tommyseilheimer.com: you are a little amber TV set eating up the maze while four ghosts try to knock you off the board.

Tips from the high score table

Press your next turn before you reach the corner and Pac Attack takes it the moment he can. The ghosts reverse direction every time the mode flips, so a ghost bearing down on you will often turn away on its own. Save the power pills until two or three ghosts are close together, then chain them: the fourth ghost on one pill is worth 1,600. The tunnels slow the ghosts down but not you. On the later levels the blue time gets short, so eat the pill, grab what you can and get out.

Pac-Man questions (and Pac Attack answers)

Who made Pac-Man and when did it come out?
Pac-Man was designed by Toru Iwatani at Namco and released in Japan in 1980 (as Puck Man), then in North America by Midway in October 1980. It became the best-selling arcade game of all time, with around 400,000 cabinets sold.
Why was it renamed from Puck Man to Pac-Man?
For the American release, Midway worried that vandals would scratch the P on the cabinet into an F. The name comes from the Japanese "paku-paku," the sound of munching.
What are the four ghosts' names?
In the U.S. version they are Blinky (red), Pinky (pink), Inky (cyan) and Clyde (orange). Each one hunts differently: Blinky chases you directly, Pinky aims ahead of you, Inky uses Blinky's position to flank you, and Clyde wanders off when he gets close. Pac Attack's four ghosts use the same four ideas.
What is the Pac-Man kill screen?
Level 256. A counting bug scrambles the right half of the maze into garbage, which makes the level impossible to finish. A perfect game stops there: 3,333,360 points, first recorded by Billy Mitchell in 1999.
What was Pac-Man Fever?
A 1982 novelty song by Buckner & Garcia that reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Pac-Man also got a Saturday morning cartoon on ABC that same year, the first cartoon based on a video game.
Was Ms. Pac-Man an official sequel?
It started as an unauthorized mod called Crazy Otto, made by a company called General Computer Corporation. Midway bought it, added the bow and lipstick, and released Ms. Pac-Man in 1982. It ended up with four mazes and outsold the original in the U.S.
Is Pac Attack the same as Pac-Man?
No. Pac Attack is an original game built for this site in the same spirit: an amber maze, four ghosts with the classic four personalities, power pills, bonus items, a siren that climbs with each level and a leaderboard. The character, the maze and the sounds are all Tommy's own.
How do I play Pac Attack?
Press Enter, click the screen or hit 1 Player Start, then steer with the arrow keys, WASD, a swipe on the screen or the on-screen pad. Eat every dot to clear the maze. Touch a ghost and you lose a life, unless you have just eaten a power pill, which turns the ghosts blue so you can eat them for 200, 400, 800 and 1,600 points.
Does it save my score?
Yes. When you finish a game in the top 10, the game asks for your name and keeps it on the leaderboard under the cabinet, saved in your browser on this device.
